Monasteries and Mountains
Tour Description
If we really pay close attention, we understand that everything in the outside world is under constant change. Even the most “stable” things change. Our inner world of thoughts and feelings change moment to moment. Buddhist perspective affirms that happiness and joy do not depend on outer conditions, which change constantly, but on our mind that experience all phenomena.
This tour will take you to beautiful valleys where the Buddhist monasteries exist hiding histories of the centuries. You will visit the most famous monastic sites, Erdenezuu monastery, Tuvkhun temple and Amarbayasgalant monastery which are some of the very few monastic structures that survived the Communist purge against the religion.
The Yellow Hat sect of Tibetan Buddhism is wide spread in Mongolia. Mongolians adopted Buddhism from Tibet in the beginning of the 13th century and later in the second half of the 16th century it became the state religion as it was a way of unifying Mongolians and creating a sense of nationalism.
We beleive you will enjoy this trip and strengthen your knowledge about Buddhism in Mongolia.
